ANGLING & FLY FISHING ON THE RIVER BLACKWATER & ANGLING IN COUNTY CORK

Roche's Country House B&B, Kanturk, Cork, is only a ten minute walk from the river Blackwater.

Anyone staying at Roche's bed and breakfast Cork, is permitted to fish a 1/2 mile private section of the river and enjoy salmon and trout fishing. The County Cork River Blackwater which is renowned for its game and course fishing, The Salmon season is open from the 1st February to 30th September. There is no closed season on course fishing.

When staying at Roche's Bed and breakfast, Cork a full time ghillie will be exclusively available for tutition and is FREE of charge.

FISHING RATES for Blackwater, Cork:

• Trout: All season €20 EURO per day

• Salmon: May & June €40 EURO per day. July , August and September €120 EURO per day. This is an excellent period.

Roche's B&B, Cork is located in the heart of the Blackwater Valley, on the banks of the river Blackwater. Only two miles from Kanturk town, Roche's B&B is ideal as a base for circular routes in the surrounding Blackwater countryside or as an overnight location as part of a cycling tour in County Cork.

WALKING

There are wonderful trails locally close to Roches B&B, Kanturk Cork, which can incorporate forest walks, parklands, historic sites and monuments and centuries old houses. One of which is the magnificent Kanturk Castle which is only a five minute drive from Roche's Country House.

Throughout the year one is spoilt for choice, whether interested in the arts, cultute or light entertainment in the Blackwater, Cork and Kanturk areas.
